I put in a new garden this spring. Unfortunately I didn’t get all the grass up. Now I have a garden full of beautiful flowers, lots of mulch and weeds everywhere. I have been trying to just pull them as I see them but we have had alot of rain so getting out in the garden regularly has been difficult. Does anyone know how to get rid of them permenantly without using weed killer?

We would like to start an organic garden this spring. I tried to grow from seed, but I am no green thumb.

Is there a place to purchase organically grown vegetable transplants?

I want to have a small “postage stamp” garden next spring and summer and have horrible soil in my yard. What is the best way to build a small raised bed?

I just planted my spring vegetable garden (lettuces, herbs mainly). The garden area is about 14 feet away from my house, along the side of a paver patio, and slightly downhill from the house.

I just found out I may have termites (we found mud tracks in the basement and a few other hints of their being around). So I want to treat the house, but this means drilling holes to spray the soild around the foundation of the house, including around the area that is 14 feet away from my new garden.

So should I worry about growing veggies so close to the house that has just been treated?

thanks in advance

I was thinking of either a fall or spring outdoor garden wedding when it wouldn’t be too hot or cold out. I would still like the flowers and trees to be in bloom. I was thinking the obvious choice was May but I found out that it is the wettest time of the year here in Louisville Ky. My other choice was october which is the driest but I wasn’t sure if any of the flowers and trees would still be in bloom. Would early June or September work? What is your suggestion?

I am hoping to nip this problem in the bud before I plant my garden this spring. I have had problems the last 2 years with this in one area of my garden. Any way to keep them from even starting this year?
How long do I wait before I can plant? I usually begin planting in late March, early April depending on weather.

I live in Northwest Florida and I have been thinking about planting a bee/butterfly garden this spring. I’m not sure what flowers are especially alluring to bees or butterflies. I already have some Lantanas and Oxalis, but other than that I’m pretty much lost. What should I plant to help out my little winged buddies?

I live in zone 5 around Milwaukee, WI, and I was wondering what I could plant now that would grow either this year in the fall or next spring. Really any flower, herb, vegetable, or fruit will do. Don’t sunflowers grow pretty fast? I am planning on starting a small garden with my children, so I was hoping to start with someting simple.
